Don’t you just love the name of this mixtape? Fish N Grits! Being a major fan of freshly caught and fried up fish, I’mma say I love that. Well when I heard that Buddy Cuz was dropping another mixtape, I was like HELL YEAH, when? Then, this dropped in my inbox, honestly I never have time to listen to full mixtapes – so this one is a major exception with everything the quality is tight. Just like a fresh fish, a real nice slice. But listen for yourself right,?. It left me asking who the fuck is Dj Gamble? And that’s cause the beats are really solid up on here. Hosting done right kids, you want a Dj that’s gonna support you in the whole process, actually mix some tracks together and shit for you. Intros, Outros, shoutouts, all that, and NO FUCKING SIRENS! Buddy Cuz goes hard! My favorite is OUT THE MUD , and KEEP IT G!! , the crowd favorite is Everything Iz Everythang (Feat. Elevator Jay). Take a couple mins out your life, give this one a LISTEN! .

Here’s the crowd favorite!

Salez (@Salez514) – Live Like This | Directed by Uctv | Prod. By Beat Mechanics

Salez - PhotoDwayne “SALEZ” Lespoir, born and raised in Montreal, Canada. He is culturally of Guyanese descent. SALEZ is a quintessential, accomplished and zealous 28 year old young artist, building towards invention and innovation in the music industry. From about the age of 13, SALEZ had a passion for writing songs, which started off as a leisure activity. However, with the evolution of time, his love and zest for creating music and finding the chemistry of sound only became stronger. He began putting in many hours of cultivated effort into his craft at the studio, and taking his music more seriously. Many artists have been a great source for influence and insight, however the two main artists that illustrated the Holy Grail to his quest of music, are Biggie and Fabolous.

His focus and determination are what define him as an individual, as he spends his spare time in the studio perfecting his pursuit and writing/producing hit songs. SALEZ is recognized for his unique flow, natural use of metaphors and his diversity. He has produced not only club anthems, but R&B, Hip Hop and Rap hits as well. In 2016, he came out with his Ep entitled: “Never Enough,” which was highly acclaimed and received a lot of attention from many fellow artists and fans. From hit single such as Let Go ft Chad Genius, Slowly Drifting, What do I Know Additionally, he recently release another hit single title: “Freak,” which has been obtaining excellent feedback. Not only does SALEZ write and record his own music; he takes the time to write songs for up and coming artists, but established artist as well. SALEZ has been underestimated by some and overlooked by others. Although the music he has been displaying has portrayed that he is a force to be reckoned with. Watch out for this ingenious and artistic superstar in the making!

J-Mel (@JMelArtist) – Emerging From The Dark #mixtape

J-Mel is “Emerging From The Dark”

I rarely emerge from the Den to review a mixtape. So you know this one has some good caliber to it. When I finally sit down to do a write on J-MEL, I get the feeling that I have something different here. J-MEL, is really putting it down with his mixtape “Emerging From The Dark”. He ups the ante straight out of the gate with – “TAKE A SHOT“, and it’s hard not to hit repeat on that song for a half day. We slide back the dials a bit with “On Go”, which exposes his creative side. But then this song “The Enemy” is yet another hard banger, where he lyrically assassinates his foes on this song. You get the ‘ don’t fuck with us ‘ theme for sure on this mixtape. On bandcamp he talks about letting go of his insecurities on this release, and you can definitely feel the confidence creeping up. I think my favorite though, is “1000”, maybe because of the lyrics, maybe the flow I don’t know, but this one is my favorite of the mixtape. The production is tight, the recording is tight, def on point. Mixtapes, just so y’all know are supposed to be the warm up for the album. But in this case of this song, there’s not allot that’ll need to be done building up for the album. Yeah, “1000” is on repeat for sure! “No Tellin”, continues the heater train. He’s also got a pretty cool collab track with other artists like Sean P, & Creek Boy, Snoop, and Money Jay, on “Body Move” all doing their dirty on the track. So all around, this mixtape is well rounded, and a great listen all the way through. Please take the time to check him out!

Listen for yourself on Band Camp!.

| November 28, 2016 | 0 Comments

Flexing over slick, mid-tempo production of tropical xylophones and back-breaking drums provided by beat bully BricksDaMane (MigosKevin GatesT.I.Jeezy), St. Petersburg survivor son Lil Karri gets straight to the paper on his club-jumping new single “What You Doing.” In a catchy, controversial flow, he boasts about his goons, guns and greenbacks.
