[Audio] Maverick Gaither – Gratitude

| January 15, 2018 | 0 Comments

Maverick Gaither (pronounced Gay ther) is a Brooklyn, New York native

Many are called, but few are chosen. Maverick’s debut CD ‘Be My Music’ reached #1 on London’s Soul Charts, and stayed on the charts for 4 months.

Singer/songwriter Maverick Gaither, a Brooklyn native has been playing the saxophone since age 11, and has been playing in nightclubs since age 15. Maverick chose the saxophone because he liked the name, the look and sound of the instrument.
After graduating from Erasmus Hall High School of Music and Art in Brooklyn, NY, Maverick joined the army and attended Pike’s Peak Community College, the Education College of Technology in Manhattan. He graduated from the Naval Academy School of Music in Norfolk Virginia.

After hearing the voice of Luther Vandross in 1980, Maverick was inspired to begin his own singing career. While serving his country, he was twice named Top Male Vocalist in the U.S. Army. Following his honorable discharge from the army, Maverick began performing with Regina Belle, Teddy Pendergrass, and Cheryl Pepsii Riley among others. Maverick has performed at many venues including the world famous Apollo, Madison Square Garden’s Felt Forum, the Waldorf Astoria, NBC Studios, Fox Studios, B. Smith’s, Woodbury Country Club, Oheka Castle, Milk River and The Cutting Room among many other venues.

Maverick is currently the lead vocalist, saxophonist and master of ceremonies for New York Entertainment’s Central Park Orchestra, with whom he has performed since 1990. Maverick is such a versatile performer he has won rave reviews for his ability to sing everything from 60’s R&B, to Ne-Yo to Frank Sinatra to Jaheim to his own original compositions. Don Harris, a master trumpet player has remarked, “Man, you can play, no you can really play. And with that voice” “Yeah you sound like Grover, really soulful like. You know what I mean,” remarked Tim Capella, a brilliant saxophonist in his own right.

Maverick’s freshman CD, a collaboration with master producer/musician Gil Small Jr. proves Maverick has a PhD in jazz, R&B and Pop, and freely visits those genres in this 10 song offering.

The title track, “Be My Music” is an instant classic. One can’t resist singing along with the words;
“You can be the Jazz in my Pop, the R&B in my Rock. You can be my music. You can be the sound of my horn, I want to play you nice and warm, you can be my music.”
The song “No One But You” is a beautiful love song, and is sure to become a popular wedding song.

The CD also contains a duet with the outstanding songstress Cheryl Pepsii Riley, on “Love of My Life,” and a rap by Grammy winner Sauce Money on “Dangerous.”

Destiny Watson, originated in Lousiana, has expanded her way from down south by way of Florida and now resides into the DMV. Destiny began her musical career at the tender age of 6 with musical influences from her dad, Glen Watson from New Orleans who DJed and played instruments along with her uncle, DJRo (Q93boys). Destiny played the organ and was trained to play the flute, saxophone, and bassoon by her music teachers and band director. Her successful modeling career started her fan base, and it expands into the music industry where she now writes music, raps, sings, and plays the flute. Destiny’s first EP, “Release Me EP,” debuted 6.9.17 and she hopes to spark change in the minds of others with her vibrant poetic sound. She works with a set few of producers, and her musical influences stem from Tupac, Left Eye, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Erykah Badu, Lil Wayne, and Beyonce. Destiny being a writer of poetry where boundaries can be crossed, Erykah Badu and Lil Wayne have a fun twist to their style of writing and wordplay which is similar to her music. Destiny is multitalented and would not mind picking up her saxophone again. During the fall of 2017 at A3C, Destiny has opened up for Haitian Mufasa from VH1’s signed hosted by Rick Ross (MMG), The Dream (Radio Killa Records), and Lenny S (Roc Nation) and Skippa Da Flippa (@flippahavin). The Young Artists Under The Age Of 25

| January 11, 2018 | 0 Comments

The one major thing every artist that makes fame under the age of 25 has in common is proving that age is nothing but a number. And while their age was probably a prerequisite for this list, so was talent. The majority of this pop music artists had outstanding releases over the years; some of them did something attention-grabbing on TV; many have projects in the works for the coming year.

This isn’t the first time pop artist under the age of 25 rose to stardom. Chris Brown, Rihanna, Charlie Puth and lot more were under this age group when they hit the music industry.

From Justin Bieber to Shawn Mendes these young artists have broken boundaries and are certainly leading global culture regardless of age when it comes to fame and success, making an impact across the world with their creativity and music.

Here are some of the 5 pop music artist under the age of 25that have taken the fast track to finesse.

1.Justin Bieber

At age 23, after a lengthy series of negative tabloid publicity, the pop star Justin Bieber has become one of the most successful pop stars in the industry. His single “What Do You Mean?” debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot and also followed it with a #2 opening for “Sorry.” After a while “Sorry” went to #1 after being halted from the top by Adele. His album “Purpose” debuted at #1 outselling One Direction and with the extra hit single “Love Yourself,” Justin Bieber’s song feature in three of the top 5 pop hit singles for five consecutive weeks.

2. Selena Gomez

Selena Gomez eventually left her Disney past behind when she left The Disney world imprint Hollywood and signed a new recording deal with Interscope. The outcome has been a second successive #1 solo hit album “Revival”, along with the top 5 smash hit single “Good For You” and also the #6 peak of “Same Old Love.” One of her hit single “Hands To Myself” is already in the top 30 at mainstream pop radio.

3. Meghan Trainor

2014 saw the rise of probably the most promising young female pop artists/songwriters in recent history. 23-year-old Meghan Trainor roared to the top of the pop music charts with her debut single “All About That Bass” and proceeded to earn Grammy Award nominations for Song and Record of the Year. Proving she is not a one-hit wonder, the follow-up single “Lips Are Movin” emerged as a top 5 pop smash. Her debut album “Title” received a lot of strong positive logical reviews while opening at #1 on the music album chart. Ten months after the release of the album, Meghan Trainor returned to the pop music top 10 with the single “Like I’m Gonna Lose You” featuring John Legend.

4. Ariana Grande

24-year-old Ariana Grande is not an ordinary Nickelodeon network superstar. She used her hit role in the TV series “Sam & Cat” to start a pop music career that has far surpassed any of the TV achievements. Her sophomore album “My Everything” became her second consecutive #1 pop album. The album featured four top 10 pop hit singles. The release of Grande’s third studio album, “Dangerous Woman,” was met with positive reviews. Ariana Grande also confirmed she began working and writing on the fourth album on her Twitter handle. A tweet she later deleted.

5. Shawn Mendes

Following in fellow Canadian Justin Bieber’s footsteps, 19-year-old Shawn Mendes was among the breakout pop music stars of 2015. However, he hit his pop chart achievements in reverse fashion of countless artists. With the wind of amazing social media success at his back, he reached #1 with his first full-length album “Handwritten.” However, he would not have a pop radio hit until when “Stitches” went as high as #1. He followed the success by dueting on “I Know What You Did Last Summer” featuring Camila Cabello from Fifth Harmony. The song has arrived at the top 15 at mainstream pop radio.
